Both chocolate and strawberries have existed for a long time, but in the 1960s a woman named Lorraine Lorusso put the two together to create the first decadent chocolate-covered strawberries. Lauren was working at a small food store called Stop and Shopping in Chicago.  She has a tempered version of the store’s gourmet food chocolate, dipped in the mixture with the freshest strawberries of the season. She allowed the chocolate hardening and then she served it to a paying customer. Treatment was immediately successful. Since strawberries and chocolate have been considered a perfect pair.
